Whether you’re celebrating Earth Day, the arrival of Spring or the excitement of Coachella, we have the perfect accessory for you! These cute flower crowns will glam up any outfit while helping you gain a sense of inner peace during meditation. No matter what occasion you use this for, we hope you make us proud.
Here are the materials that you will need to get started on this project:
Take the floral wire and bend it so that it is in the shape of a rainbow. This way when you are taping your flowers on, it will keep its original shape and already be molded to fit your head.
Now, pick your first few flowers of choice and cut the stem to about 2 inches in length. If you cut it too short, it makes it more difficult to secure the flower onto the crown. At the same rate, if you have a long stem, you will end up using a lot of tape! Use your scissors to adjust your stem and tape length accordingly.
Begin by taping your first flower onto one edge of the floral wire, leaving yourself about 2 inches of space so that you can tie the ribbon on at the end of this project.
TIP: Make sure you tape the flowers tightly onto the floral wire. That way, you can prevent any falling flowers when you wear the crown.
Once you have securely taped your flower onto the floral wire, the next step is to start wrapping other flowers onto your crown. This is the fun part because you can create any design that you want, choosing which flowers and how many flowers you want to have on your crown.
Remember to lay them over each other so that when you put it on, the flowers will naturally fall in line with one another without leaving too much space in between.
Make sure you also leave 2 inches on the other end of the floral wire to make sure that it is the same amount of space you allotted yourself for the other side. Once you have put all the flowers on, the next step is to tie the ribbons onto the edge of your crown.
Bend the ends to create a loop, twisting the wire so that it is secure. You want to cut the ribbon so that you have enough to tie to the back of the crown. The length will depend on what you like, but generally about a foot on each side works. Tie the ribbon into the loop and make a couple of knots. You can cut off the extra ribbon after tying it if you like.
It is time to put your crown on! It is helpful to have someone tie it on for you, but if you are doing it alone, that won’t be a problem either. Just tie it on and there you go, you just made your own DIY Flower Crown!
Enjoy and have fun with it
